Carissa Vados, Head of Diabetes Health Equity at Novo Nordisk and a member of Access Accelerated, recently shared her insights on the importance of equitable healthcare access, the need to investing in strong health systems, and the future of noncommunicable disease (NCD) care.

“All of our lives are touched by health. I’m a firm believer that health is key to economic success and to social prosperity.”

Drawing on her background in infectious and communicable diseases, Vados highlighted the transferable lessons and opportunities that can strengthen the global NCD response, the power of collaboration between sectors and stakeholders—including people with lived experiences, the private sector, and governments—and the transformative power of health on individuals, communities, and economies.
