Did you know…?
- Nearly one billion people on Earth live with a mental disorder.
- Over 80% of those people live in low-and-middle-income countries.
- On average, countries dedicate <2% of their health care budgets to mental health.
Mental health conditions are widespread, under-treated and under-resourced. And as with many NCDs, it is the most disadvantaged in society who are at greatest risk of developing mental health conditions and who are also the least likely to have access to effective, affordable and quality mental health care.
