The World Bank’s Healthy Longevity Initiative is a groundbreaking exploration of how aging and noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) affect people and economies.

Since 2017, Access Accelerated supported the World Bank in its most significant efforts to demonstrate the potential value of investment in NCDs.  On September 12, the flagship report, Unlocking the Power of Healthy Longevity: Demographic Change, Non-communicable Diseases, and Human Capital, was launched at a World Bank event, featuring speakers from PAHO, JICA, the governments of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and civil society organization, HelpAge International.

The report offers fresh insights into how strategic investments in aging populations can improve human capital, boost societal well-being, and drive economic growth and is designed to guide policymakers and advocates as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of demographic change and provide the evidence to drive greater investment in NCDs.
