Access Accelerated will be hosting a side event in the margins of the Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC). The event, Working Together to Translate Words into Action: NCD Prevention, Treatment and Care, will include high-level remarks, panel discussion and an interactive Q&A session.
Through this discussion, Access Accelerated aims to:
- Highlight the unique perspective of people living with NCDs and the need for a people-centered approach to decision-making at all levels.
- Affirm the need to bring efforts to address NCDs into broader health systems strengthening initiatives to reduce silos and the essential nature of collective action to develop sustainable, appropriate and affordable solutions at global and local levels in the context of PMAC’s “The Political Economy of NCDs: A Whole of Society Approach” paper.
- Bring together practical and diverse perspectives, experiences and learnings from stakeholders implementing in different contexts to identify best practices and inform the global public health agenda in the context of SDG implementation.
- Identify which best practices are most effective to translate global commitments into local contexts.
